Kitchen Renovation in Spirit Lake

This kitchen was part of a whole-house refresh that I worked on between September 2024 and February 2025. While there were updates throughout the home, the kitchen ended up being one of my favorite parts of the project because of how much it changed without completely starting from scratch.

The original lower cabinets had seen better days, so I removed them and installed all new ones. The upper cabinets were still in good shape, so instead of replacing them, I refinished them and gave them a fresh new look. I always like reusing quality materials when it makes sense.

The floors weren't level, so that was the next challenge. After getting everything flattened out, I installed new LVP flooring throughout the kitchen. It's tough, easy to maintain, and a great fit for most homes.

From there, I patched drywall, updated the lighting, installed new faucets and fixtures, put in new countertops, and finished everything off with a simple white subway tile backsplash. I also replaced all of the kitchen appliances as part of the project, so everything matched and functioned properly.

One thing that definitely needed attention was the old window above the sink. It had been leaking for a while, causing mold issues, so I replaced it with a new window that solved the problem and let in even more natural light.

I enjoy projects like this because they're more than just replacing cabinets or installing flooring. It's taking an older kitchen that's worn out and making it a place someone can actually enjoy spending time in again!

If you're thinking about updating your kitchen—or even tackling a larger home refresh—I'd be happy to help. At Mr. Done-Right, I take pride in doing quality work, paying attention to the details, and leaving every project better than I found it.
